Do you know that most of the famous people you adore or idolize today are at their core a Narcissist. In a world where it is getting increasingly difficult to self appreciate and self motivate yourself, there resides a certain group or sect of people who are extremely self centered and over entitled. Various studies have revealed that a Narcissist may have grandiose delusions about their self importance, of how they are the invincibles of this modern world. They are absolutely everywhere, in fact they run the modern world. Just imagine yourself as a very successful Entrepreneur/Businessmen, who can have whatever he wants in his life, a Lavish Palace, his favourite Sports Car, a luxurious Yacht. People are crazy about your success stories and achievements, and your personality is worth dying for, you are famous, thus constantly followed by the media and the paparazzi, your words are precious hence a statement from your mouth can rock the whole market !
This may be a dream life of yours but the Ultra Riches, the Elites are certainly living it. This level of attention and importance if catered to anyone, can easily blind them into seeing a virtual world with them being at the center. In a world where most of us struggle to make our lives better, these Elites get to break the very shackles of our society, the authority to mend the rules. Intensive Research has shown that those in the ranks of the 1% are likely to be more Narcissistic than the other socioeconomic groups. Our Society idealizes and respects the Rich, while endorsing their success stories. So is Narcissism an essential trait for a successful life?

The Wealthy and Powerful are more or less Narcissistic

We are all Narcissists in our own way, after all who doesn’t like self appreciation and self admiration, but to what extent is it good? Does it harm the one’s closer to you?
Our history says that we have had a lot of Narcissistic leaders in the form of Presidents, Autocratic leaders and the Wealthies. The Modern world is dominated by the ideologies of Capitalism and Communism, thus making a few people at the top very important and essential for the functioning of the society. We follow them, we cherish them, and we want to be them. So here are some of the Narcissistic leaders from the history and the modern world.

Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk

The self made Billionaires of the World, the richest of the rich, the Bezos and Musk’s are showing us that the World is made for the Rich only. Recently, both of these men have desired to venture into the Space and promote opportunities for Space Tourism. And people are excited about it and already signing for it, but there resides a problem, a single ticket for those flights costs hundreds and thousands of dollars, which ofcourse isn’t something a poor person could afford for. Thus, it is basically for the rich, but isn’t the Earth having it’s own problems with global warming’s and stuff? But who cares or atleast they don’t care!. They are fascinated by the Space, hence like to spend their billions and millions into it. But less so, is their generosity towards giving their money to the less fortunates in this world, along with the people who work for them.

In addition, they find it amusing to avoid paying taxes to the government, as their wealth keeps on piling at double or triple the speed. There have been reports that Musk and Bezos have paid next to zero dollars in taxes in the last few years. They manipulate the market with their actions and statements and earn billions of dollars from it. Earlier this year, Musk tried to push Bitcoin and Dogecoin (two major cryptocurrencies) upwards until finally dumping it. And the funny thing is, he keeps on doing these things now and again, as if mocking the whole market. Musk thinks of himself as an global species saviour, who is working to put the first humans to Mars, before transforming the red planet into a habitable place for the human species.

In 2010, a Philanthropic club named The Giving Pledge got on board with 222 billionaires to give away the majority of their wealth to fund diverse issues of the underprivileged. Bezos has resolutely refused to sign the pledge after his divorce, instead he has created his own foundation named Bezos Earth Fund and donated a generous amount of $10 billion. However, till date only a reported $800 Million have been given to charities out of the original donated amount (roughly 0.4% of his total wealth). Musk like Bezos has also set up his own private foundation and donated a $100 Million (roughly 0.5% of his total wealth), he is also a signed member in The Giving Pledge community…..
